# Third-party software

The application resolves the public dependencies below through ESP-IDF's
Component Manager, except for the explicitly documented board-support override
and vendored browser, font, audio and decoder assets. Versions are taken from
the release `dependencies.lock`; a git commit is shown where the dependency is
locked directly to git.

The target linker maps retain runtime objects from the applicable board drivers
and from `esp_codec_dev`, `esp_h264`,
`esp_io_expander`, `esp_lcd_touch`, `esp_libsrtp`, `esp_lv_decoder`,
`esp_lvgl_adapter`, `esp_new_jpeg`, `esp_peer`, `esp_websocket_client`,
`cjson`, `libpng`, `mdns`, `mqtt`, `zlib`, LittleFS, LVGL and QMI8658. The target-specific maps
also retain XPowersLib, TCA9554, CO5300 and CST9217 for AMOLED, CST816S for LCD,
and GC9A01 plus CST816S for KNOMI2. `button`, `cmake_utilities`, `esp_lcd_panel_io_additions`,
`esp_lv_fs`, `esp_mmap_assets`, `freetype` and `knob` are resolved build or
adapter dependencies but contribute no retained archive object to either final
link. They remain listed so this inventory exactly covers `dependencies.lock`.

The enabled LVGL build links the following bundled third-party code and fonts:

The five PrintDeck Montserrat resources retain LVGL's glyph coverage, metrics,
kerning and exact pixel values in native LVGL compressed storage. Reviewed font
tables and their MIT/OFL notices are in `main/generated/compressed-montserrat/`;
the managed LVGL sources remain unchanged. AMOLED/LCD speech-model data retains the
ESP-SR 2.5.1 license in `main/generated/voice-models/LICENSE-ESP-SR.txt`; lossless
storage does not alter model weights or change the dependency's license.

PrintDeck also distributes the following vendored browser code, fonts, audio or
local decoder code in the tagged source and public Web Config/installer:

The local OpenH264 subset decodes progressive, single-slice 8-bit 4:2:0 IDR
pictures up to 1920 × 1088 coded pixels. Its two-row picture workspace retains
intra-prediction and deblocking neighbours, then emits completed rows directly
into a display-sized thumbnail. It is not an inter-frame video decoder; other
slice layouts, formats and larger pictures are rejected. Upstream copyright
and BSD-2-Clause notices remain in the component.

The device and Web Config contain simplified marks for supported printer
manufacturers, and the public installer contains Google Chrome and Microsoft
Edge compatibility marks. These trademarks remain the property of their
respective owners and are used only for product or browser identification.
PrintDeck is not affiliated with or endorsed by those manufacturers, Google or
Microsoft.

The Web Config compatibility strip includes the upstream
[Klipper logo](https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/blob/master/docs/img/klipper.svg)
and the official [OctoPrint logo](https://octoprint.org/trademark-rules/).
Device printer cards and dashboards also use the official OctoPrint colour logo
from its [PNG logo kit](https://octoprint.org/trademark-rules/logo_png_kit.zip),
scaled proportionally into indexed screen assets without theme recolouring.
[OctoPrint](https://octoprint.org) is a registered trademark owned by Gina Häußge.
These project marks remain the property of their respective owners. PrintDeck
is not affiliated with or endorsed by either project.

The user-manual source includes licensed Adobe Stock asset 1777478313 by
Jirawatfoto as cover artwork. That file is excluded from the PrintDeck license
and is not offered for independent reuse.

`main/src/platform/bambu_trust.cpp` contains manufacturer-issued public X.509 trust anchors used
only to validate local printer TLS certificates. They identify BBL Technologies Co. Ltd as issuer;
PrintDeck does not claim authorship of this certificate data. Included SHA-256 fingerprints:

- BBL CA2 RSA: `E9:8F:19:57:8B:3F:12:4A:CE:6B:8A:24:7F:FE:DA:52:DC:99:C8:9F:D4:E7:D2:0C:82:82:99:77:B7:F3:35:02`.

The release process must retain the notices delivered with all resolved
transitive dependencies. The release `NOTICE` consolidates the notices that
must accompany a binary distribution; it is packaged as one of the five
target-qualified release assets.

## Waveshare BSP override

`components/waveshare__esp32_s3_touch_amoled_1_75` contains PrintDeck's pinned
copy of Waveshare BSP 3.0.1, based on upstream commit
`bfeb6e6d5737178cdde78b630c8118074da0a657`. It is kept in Git because the
released firmware depends on board-specific display fixes that are not present
in the published component: software rotation for 90/270-degree orientations,
matching touch rotation, PSRAM-backed rotation storage, internal DMA staging,
TE-aware transfers and panel offsets. Keeping the override in source makes a
clean release build reproducible instead of relying on an ignored modification
inside `managed_components`.

The upstream Apache-2.0 `LICENSE` and component metadata are retained in that
directory. Future BSP upgrades must rebase and verify this override on hardware.

## Waveshare ESP32-S3 Touch LCD 1.54 reference

The square-display board integration in `main/src/platform/board_lcd_1_54.cpp`
uses the public Waveshare ESP32-S3 Touch LCD 1.54 examples as its hardware
reference, pinned during development to upstream commit
`5157db7c888e476fd57f8a95020800377447478f`. PrintDeck does not vendor that
example project or link its application code; it uses ESP-IDF drivers and the
managed CST816S, QMI8658 and ES8311/ES7210 components directly. The upstream reference
is licensed under Apache-2.0.

## BIGTREETECH KNOMI2 hardware reference

The KNOMI2 integration in `main/src/platform/board_knomi2.cpp` uses the public
BIGTREETECH KNOMI repository as its hardware pinout reference, pinned during
development to commit `0c0cda214377b94b90efed274ba51b04d25c6e89`.
PrintDeck does not vendor or copy that application code and does not link it;
the target is implemented with ESP-IDF and managed Espressif GC9A01 and CST816S
drivers. The pinned upstream revision does not contain a license file, so it is
used only as factual hardware documentation.

## Website printer thumbnails

Optional Web Config printer photographs are served as separate website assets
under `docs/assets/printers/v1/`; they are not embedded in firmware. The original
PNG cover images come from OrcaSlicer and its contributors at revision
`ade9e77b6bc0dc3f234b2504fd22af5ed434a18e` and retain GNU AGPL version 3.
They are unmodified except for filenames. Per-image original source links and
SHA-256 digests are in `docs/assets/printers/v1/NOTICE.md`; the license text is in
`docs/assets/printers/v1/LICENSE.txt`. Product names and marks belong to their
respective owners.

Additional TinyMaker and UniFormation GK3 Ultra product photographs are supplied
from the per-image sources listed in the thumbnail notice. Their backgrounds
are removed and the photographs are scaled for display; rights remain with
the respective owners. The OrcaSlicer license statement above applies only
to the OrcaSlicer artwork.
